Key Ideas
Task 1
The aim of this task is to help students identify and note the different instances when each character in The Lord Of The Flies has an internal "Good vs Evil" struggle, showing how evil did not come from any external body but came from within them, triggered by the loss of civilization and order.
The witness statement can also be referred to in the future as a source of information for revision.

Task 2
The aim of this task is to allow students to realise that the evil they hate, fear and fight is actually within them and that fight that evil is fruitless. As Friedrich Nietzsche put it "Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you." Picking a picture that best represents evil will also allow the student to develop a mental image of what they think evil is, understanding it and its part in The Lord Of The Flies better,
Task 3
The aim of this task is to put students into scenarios to find out how "evil" they are. These scenarios many sound stupid but have ever needed to choose between your life and someone else's? The quiz aims to show students that under extreme circumstances the order in our world breaks down and evil reigns supreme.
